-I'm glad Kate Winslet won Best Actor. She had to win it.
-Likewise, the soundtrack for Slumdog Millionaire was very deserving to win. (And did)
-Though he wasn't nominated for anything, Ralph Fiennes proved again in The Reader that he is second-to-none in acting right now.
-Too bad Mickey Rourke couldn't win an award for Biggest Comeback for The Wrestler.
-This year's nominees for Best Picture, in totality, were not as good as last year's nominees.
-I liked watching Man on a Wire far more than any other documentary.

Outraged? Why? I thought Frank Langella's performance was excellent as well, and I've heard Mickey Rourke's was fantastic. I mean, of course they were all going to be good since they were all Best Actor nominees, but what I mean is I didn't think Penn's performance was so dramatically better than Langella's (enough to cause an outrage if he didn't get it, that is).
Kate Winslet won Best Actress, by the way! (I know, I know, just a typo.)
I hope Kate Winslet isn't insulted. I didn't even noticed when I read it...
I thought Langella portrayed Nixon well, but I don't know if I would call it a great performance, as in Best Actor caliber. I've heard Rourke was great and I've seen bits of it, but I think Milk was an incredibly challenging role and I think Penn nailed. I don't think any of the other roles were as challenging.
Man On Wire was a great movie. I highly enjoyed watching it.
I didn't see too many of the movies nominated this year. But the Wrestler looked phenomenal from the previews I've seen. And I like Sean Penn, so I'm sure Milk was good.
